Father Edward Sheridan
Pastor of Saint Rosalie’s Parish
I am in my eighth year as pastor here at Saint Rosalie's Parish. During this time our parish has grown in leaps and bounds. I thank the People of God of Saint Rosalie’s who welcome all new parishioners together with our vibrant faith community. How blest I am with my brother priests to celebrate the sacraments with the Saint Rosalie's parish family and work together in sharing our faith in Jesus Christ.
I am a graduate of Cathedral College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and completed my theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington with a Master’s Degree in Theology in 2006 and a Master’s Degree in Divinity in 2007. In January of 2017, I received a Certificate in Spiritual Direction for Diocesan Priests completing a three year program at the Institute for Priestly Formation at Mundelein Seminary in Chicago. My background includes working in business for a number of years and returning to the seminary to complete my studies. I was ordained a transitional Deacon in 2006 and did pastoral work at Saint Mary's in Manhasset as a Deacon. I was ordained a priest in June 2007 and assigned to Saint Catherine of Sienna Parish in Franklin Square. I was appointed the Administrator of Saint Catherine's during Monsignor Thomas Groenwald's terminal illness.
I was appointed Pastor at Saint Rosalie’s parish in Hampton Bays in 2010. In 2014 I was elected and appointed Dean of the Peconic Deanery with 16 parishes including the North and South Forks of Eastern Long Island. I’m blessed to have worked with and continue to work with very capable and dynamic priests. September 1, 2017, I was appointed Interim Vicar of the Eastern Vicariate of the Diocese of Rockville Centre by Bishop John Barres. This position is to assist in helping to manage the Easter part of the Diocese in assisting the Bishop in providing for the spiritual welfare of its members.
